While Anne's freelance writing covers a wide variety of topics including but not limited to retail issues, parenting, grandparent/grandchild interactions, crafts, health, animals and pets, she specializes in writing about birds.

She is a former contributing editor to Pet Age Magazine and the author of The Conure Handbook (Barron's Educational Series, Inc.) and Simple Tips and Inspiration for Knitters (Barbour Publishing, Inc.). Her writing credits include hundreds of articles in magazines such as Bird Talk, Pet Age, Animal Wellness, Chicken Soup for the Soul Magazine, Fate, Reminisce, Angels on Earth, The Dollar Stretcher, Birmingham Parent and numerous others.

Anne's inspirational writing and personal essays have been published in 50+ books, including five volumes of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series, Cup of Comfort for Grandparents, more than two dozen Guideposts books, Celebrate Mom, Classic Christmas, Stories of Strength, A Prince among Dogs and Other Stories of the Dogs We Love, and various other anthologies.

Her specialties include article writing on assignment, manuscript/book proposal evaluations, freelance editing, ghostwriting/rewriting, freelance photography, inspirational personal essays, press releases, websites, and artist bios. She is detail and deadline oriented, has a strong work ethic, and the capability to work both independently and collaboratively.


Anne lives in beautiful rural Alabama with her two parrots, Rio and Pancho, and her beagle, Darby.
